In April 2021 I built and hung a Poetry Box outside my home. I wanted to share poems and their incredible concentrated joy and power with neighbors and anyone walking by. As the months pass, I continue to have great interactions with people who are surprised by the poems and artistic embellishments. I’ve received a Peet’s Coffee gift card in thanks, a poem from a neighbor whose friend wrote a poem about the Poetry Box (so meta), and best of all a poem left by a young child.
I pick the poems and change them every 10 days or so.
